Since their formation as preteens in Tennessee 20 years ago. They quickly became Grammy-winning emo superstars and one of the most influential bands of their generation, with their euphoric, angst-ridden pop-punk sound thriving among artists such as Willow Smith and Meet Me at the Altar, as well as influencing a generation of contrasting musicians ranging from Soccer Mommy to Grimes and Lil Uzi Vert.
In 2018, Paramore announced a hiatus, however they made it clear that it was not a breakup. During the band's long break, frontwoman Hayley William launched a solo career, releasing two albums: Petals for Armor in 2020 and Flowers for Vases / Descansos in 2021.
Now back with their new album, for the first time in more than 15 years, Paramore has topped the Billboard rock radio charts. The lead track from the band's next album, "This Is Why," has risen to the top of the Alternative Airplay chart for the week ending February 4. The new album is due to drop on February 10th, with "The News", coming last December, and the latest single, "C’est Comme Ça", dropping a couple of weeks ago.
